So I'm still pregnant. My doctor wanted to induce me this weekend because the baby is getting big and I'm miserable, but the hospital won't allow it. Apparently, the hospital has allowed early inductions (36-37 weeks) for convenience and gained lots of negative attention for the number of NICU babies they had. So, the hospital has swung the pendulum the other way. Because my gestational diabetes is controlled they won't budge and they won't listen to my doctor. My doctor is encouraging me to try everything to go into labor on my own. Other than that, it's snowing (boo because I hate snow and it makes walking difficult and I can't even indulge in hot chocolate) and BYU has decided to only half show up for the game.
On a happy note, I bought bread pans today. We registered for some when we got married but never received any and we never bought any. We have bananas that are overripe and I don't want them to go to waste, so it was time. I bought the Williams-Sonoma gold line bread pans. We have round cake pans in the same brand and they are wonderful. They cook evenly and the cake comes out easily and without tearing. I recently did some research and the loaf pans come highly recommended by long-time bread makers, professional cooks, and cooking magazines. After reading user reviews I decided this was the way to go. My mom also has them and loves them. Robert and I also bought the all important, heavily recommended boppy. We're ready for him to come!

Good job, I love my boppy! Good luck with getting that baby to come!
hospitals are always changing it up when they are getting in trouble. At kaiser they used to not induce you until 42 weeeks unless medically needed. They had too many still births and babies that were too big people needed lots of c-sections. So now it is at 41 weeks. I told them I don't want to be induced I want to go on my own but they said its policy if have not had by 41 weeeks. Oh well but then I will probably want this little one out.
Good luck with this last little bit. Will they induce you if you are over your due date?
Raspberry herbal did it for Jennifer. Sex does it for a LOT of people. Try that one...it's a lot more than herbal tea!
Hi Natalie! Love your blog! Sorry you are still pregnant, I so know the feeling. Hang in there. btw you look BEAUTIFUL! Your hair is so long!
PS we bought a boppy and don't really use it for feeding. We got a "my brest friend" pillow (isn't that the silliest name?) and it works soo much better. The boppy is nice for tummy time and stuff though.
Hope your labor and delivery is smooth! Good luck!
Arrowhead hospital in Arizona--a little induction happy. I had one on David's due date and even though I was in labor FOREVER I don't think I would change it.
Mt Auburn Hospital in Massachusetts--a lot like what you are describing. It was like this HUGE issue for them to give me pitocin when my labor hadn't progressed. And he was born just fine after they got over it and hooked me up to the induction drugs.
SO FRUSTRATING!!! I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! HANG IN THERE!!!
Cherise, they won't induce until after I pass my due date, so I'm looking at late this week at the earliest. My baby is huge though so I'm worried about having to have a c-section. The funny thing is, their own doctors think my due date has actually passed, but they also have a policy not to change it if it is within weeks of the calendar due date.
If you really want the baby out I've heard castor oil works wonders, although if I were you I'd research it a little before trying. Good luck! I also need your new address, so send it to me if you get a chance! Thanks
My mother used castor oil to induce labor when my sister was due. Her doctor was going out of town and she didn't want to have to use a different doctor. The castor oil really worked and didn't cause any additional problems (although it did taste nasty!)
I am excited to find that you have a blog! I love blogs :) Brian and I are hoping little John makes his debut this week! We're excited to meet him! Good luck with the last days of being preggers! Let me know if you need ANYTHING. I've been feeling better this week, so if you need help let me know :)
